Here's something that relates with the upcoming Mother's day - a black and white graphic drawing of a mother with baby. Yes - it is one often used subject for artists. It is also a precious everyday moment, and my goal has always been to capture life and it's emotions. It may be strange that it has taken me so long to put the sweetness and tenderness of a motherhood into the drawing. I have pictured mothers and babies (or children) before, but there has always been some other angle to the subject - worry, troubles, loneliness etc. There really are many aspects there! But here is the best bit:

Project "Kitty" and how it came to be...
I started this fun project on my Jewelry FB page - I named it "Kitty" because it is all about cats and earrings.
The idea for cat charm jewelry started once upon a time when I was planning this trip to Finland and also wanted to take part on blues themed craft and vintage fair while there. I thought it would be fun to design some new pendants especially for the event. And that is how my cats were born. Later on I also made some earrings with the same cat silhouette stamp, and voila:
These earrings are very hand made. First I make the shape of the pendant out of air drying clay. Then I paint the background and after that the Kitty.
The FB-project is basically a giveaway for a custom item. On May 1st I'll announce the winner. But that doesn't mean there wont be more custom Kitties available after that. I hope people will come along and suggest fun colors as long as they want to. I'm very excited about this myself!

Abstract "Bubbles" drawing 3

| Circles 3 |
Another little abstract drawing - same size as previous 15x21cm. Water color and ink pen on paper is the medium, and as you can see I was in a slightly pink mood when I drew this one.
Recently I have been wondering a lot about words. It seems that just drawing and painting is not enough anymore. Somehow it has to be possible to put your art also into words. It is not an easy task. Especially when one gets Stuck whenever the need calls. But I have decided to try, and try until I manage. I expect the practice - even if it doesn't make my essays perfect - it might just help on the improvement stairs a bit... I have been trying to distance myself from my work in order to do this better, but still there is so much problems with labeling... Argh!

Going abstract...

| Circles 5 |
One of my newest things is mixed media ink drawing inspired by simple geometrical shapes. So far I have made use of circles, but who knows when the winds turn and I suddenly start thinking more square. For now iIt seems to me that there are yet so many possibilities to study in circles department... All this movement and interaction - fascinating! As seen - the line drawing remains wavy and somewhat complicated - like my usual way of solving things...

Recycling workshop / taaskasutuse õpituba
We had a bit of fun with old glas jars... The idea was to give some plain looking things a new and decorative look. Old beer bottle became a wonderful vase. A pikcle jar can be used as a pencil cup or a toothbrush holder... For me the most fun part was again to see so many diferent people, using same materials and methods, getting so many original results. I'm thinking - this is something I might do again :-)

Õllepudelist sai lillevaas ja kurgipurgist pliiatsi- või hambaharjatops (kuidas just vaja on, eksole) -- ehk siis taaskasutse teemaline õpituba. Oli vahva ja tuleks korrata, arvan ma!
